About the role

Administer and maintain IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) production and non-production environments. Monitor system health, performance, storage utilization, and system availability. Manage user profiles, security policies, access controls, and authorization levels. Perform backup, recovery, restore, and disaster recovery activities using BRMS and native tools. Execute system maintenance activities including PTF installation, OS upgrades, IPL, and patch management. Manage job scheduling, job queues, subsystems, output queues, and batch processing activities. Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and performance-related issues and conduct root cause analysis. Coordinate with application, database, network, and support teams for incident resolution and service delivery. Experience in IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) Administration. Strong knowledge of IBM i operating systems, system management, and administration. Hands-on experience with BRMS Backup & Recovery. Experience with Robot Scheduler / Job Scheduling Tools. Knowledge of user profile management, security administration, and access control. Experience in PTF installation, OS upgrades, system maintenance, and IPL activities. Understanding of HMC, LPAR Management, and storage administration. Exposure to Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management processes (ITIL). Experience with tape management, media management, and DR testing activities. Knowledge of printer management, output queue administration, and subsystem monitoring. Ability to monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, job queues, and performance bottlenecks. Exposure to HA/DR solutions such as MIMIX and IBM Power Systems environments would be an added advantage.
