Summary:

As a Performance Tester, the candidate will be responsible for independently managing end-to-end performance testing engagements and collaborating with TPG Telecom client stakeholders, including CX, infrastructure, and platform teams. The role requires strong expertise in performance test strategy, planning, scripting, execution, monitoring, diagnostics, capacity analysis, and performance reporting. The candidate will validate application performance across Pega Customer Decision Hub (CDH), Next-Best-Action Advisor (NBAA), digital channels, and high-volume outbound e-mail and SMS scenarios. The role involves analyzing system behavior under varying workloads, identifying performance bottlenecks, supporting capacity planning and infrastructure sizing, and providing actionable performance insights and recommendations to support production readiness and programmed objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Expected to independently manage end-to-end performance testing engagements, from test planning and execution through analysis, reporting, and production readiness recommendations.

- Collaborate with TPG Telecom client stakeholders, including CX, infrastructure, platform, and technical teams, to define performance objectives and testing requirements.

- Develop comprehensive performance test strategies and plans covering scope, workload modelling, entry and exit criteria, test scenarios, and success criteria.

- Define production-like volumetric models based on real-world traffic patterns and extrapolate peak and future-state workloads.

- Develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter and HP LoadRunner/LoadRunner Professional.

- Create new scripts and enhance or refactor existing scripts based on application changes and evolving business requirements.

- Design and execute performance tests covering Pega CDH decision flows, NBAA inbound and outbound REST APIs, web applications, mobile applications, and IVR channels.

- Design and execute high-volume outbound performance tests for e-mail and SMS campaign scenarios, including batch and triggered communications.

- Validate IP warming strategies by analyzing gradual sending-volume ramp-up, bounce rates, delivery rates, and other relevant deliverability metrics.

- Perform throughput benchmarking for batch and triggered e-mail/SMS campaigns and analyze latency across downstream E-mail Service Provider (ESP) and SMS gateway integrations.

- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including CPU utilization, heap memory, garbage collection, thread pool behavior, response-time percentiles (P95/P99), page load times, throughput, and system degradation under load.

- Use Pega Diagnostic Cloud (PDC) to analyze JVM telemetry, investigate alerts, and identify garbage collection and application performance issues.

- Develop and maintain Splunk queries and dashboards to correlate application logs, performance metrics, and infrastructure behavior during test execution.

- Translate business volumetrics, including concurrent users, daily interaction volumes, transaction rates, and batch processing targets, into appropriate Non-Functional Requirement (NFR) test scenarios.

- Perform capacity analysis and performance extrapolation to forecast system behavior under future-state workloads and support infrastructure sizing decisions.

- Identify performance bottlenecks and provide root-cause analysis and recommendations for application, database, integration, and infrastructure-level issues.

- Prepare structured performance test reports, executive-level performance summaries, defect triage reports, NFR validation reports, and production readiness recommendations.

- Present performance test results, risks, findings, and recommendations to technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

- Provide performance insights and support go/no-go decisions for production releases.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance objectives are aligned with business requirements, NFRs, and programmed governance.

- Maintain appropriate performance testing documentation, evidence, test results, and knowledge repositories.

Professional & Technical Skills:

- Must Have Skills: Strong proficiency in Performance Testing and Performance Test Strategy.

- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Performance Testing.

- Hands-on experience with Apache JMeter and HP LoadRunner/LoadRunner Professional.

- Strong experience in performance test planning, workload modelling, scripting, execution, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.

- Experience in scripting and performance testing of REST APIs, web applications, mobile applications, and IVR channels.

- Strong understanding of performance engineering concepts, including workload modelling, capacity planning, benchmarking, bottleneck analysis, and NFR validation.

- Experience analyzing performance metrics such as response time percentiles (P95/P99), throughput, CPU utilization, memory consumption, thread pools, and application latency.

- Hands-on experience with performance monitoring, observability, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis.

- Experience with Pega Diagnostic Cloud (PDC) for JVM telemetry, alert analysis, and garbage collection pressure monitoring.

- Experience developing Splunk queries and dashboards for application and infrastructure monitoring.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend appropriate solutions.

- Experience with capacity planning, volumetric modelling, performance extrapolation, and future-state load forecasting.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex performance findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Pega Customer Decision Hub (CDH) and Next-Best-Action Advisor (NBAA).

- Knowledge of Pega CDH decision flows and NBAA inbound and outbound REST APIs.

- Experience in performance testing of digital channels, including web, mobile, and IVR.

- Experience with high-volume outbound e-mail and SMS performance testing.

- Knowledge of batch and triggered e-mail/SMS campaign performance testing.

- Experience validating IP warming strategies and analyzing e-mail deliverability metrics.

- Experience testing integrations with E-mail Service Providers (ESPs) and SMS gateways.

- Experience working with telecommunications or large-scale customer engagement platforms.

- Experience supporting production readiness assessments and go/no-go decisions.

Additional Information:

- The candidate should have 7+ years of experience in Performance Testing.

- Strong hands-on experience with JMeter and HP LoadRunner/LoadRunner Professional is required.

- Experience in performance testing across Pega CDH, NBAA, digital channels, and high-volume outbound e-mail/SMS scenarios is preferred.

- The candidate should have strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- The role requires the ability to independently manage performance testing activities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- The candidate should be capable of supporting capacity planning, NFR validation, performance benchmarking, and production readiness assessments.

- The candidate should have experience preparing performance reports and providing go/no-go recommendations based on performance test results.

- The ability to communicate technical performance findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders is essential.

- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment and collaborating with distributed or cross-shore teams is preferred.
