Summary

Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Responsible for end-to-end administration of Oracle databases across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Exadata CloudCustomer (ExaCC) under a Hosted DBA model, and AWS RDS. Lead hybrid multi-cloud database operations, performance engineering, and cross-platform migration projects.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

Administer Oracle databases on GCP Compute Engine, Bare Metal Solution for Oracle, and Cloud SQL

Administer Oracle Exadata CloudCustomer (ExaCC) under the Hosted DBA (HDBA) operating model

Administer AWS RDS for Oracle including Multi-AZ, snapshots, parameter groups, and Option Groups

Manage Oracle ASM, RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate replication across the hybrid estate

Coordinate with Oracle ExaCC platform team on infrastructure events, patching windows, and incidents

Build automation for backup, patching, and provisioning across GCP, ExaCC, and AWS RDS

Conduct Oracle performance tuning using AWR, ADDM, ASH, and SQL Tuning Advisor

Perform capacity planning, tablespace management, and cost optimization across all three platforms

Lead database migration projects between on-prem, ExaCC, GCP, and AWS using Data Pump, RMAN, GoldenGate, DMS

Implement HA / DR strategies including Data Guard, GoldenGate, cross-region replication

Drive Oracle license compliance, audit readiness, and BYOL strategy across cloud platforms

Maintain DBA runbooks, migration playbooks, and operational documentation

Exadata: Exadata CloudCustomer Console, dcli, cellcli, exawatcher, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) console

GCP: Compute Engine, Bare Metal Solution for Oracle, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, IAM, gcloud CLI

AWS: RDS for Oracle, RDS Custom for Oracle, AWS DMS, AWS CLI, IAM, CloudWatch

Performance: AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQL Tuning Advisor, Statspack

Migration: Oracle GoldenGate, AWS DMS, Data Pump, RMAN, Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM)

Backup: Networker, RMAN, Oracle Recovery Manager, AWS Backup

Monitoring: Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, Dynatrace, GCP Cloud Monitoring, AWS CloudWatch

Automation: Ansible (oracle.database collection), Python (cx Oracle), Shell, Terraform

ITSM: ServiceNow

Security: Qualys, Tenable, Oracle Database Vault, TDE

SLA / KPI Ownership:

Ensure adherence to SLA/KPI commitments

Track MTTR (Mean Time to Resolve) and MTTA (Mean Time to Acknowledge)

Monitor MTBF and system availability

Publish service performance reports

Client Facing Responsibilities:

Participate in war room calls during major incidents

Handle escalation matrix and stakeholder communication

Provide timely updates to business and technical stakeholders

Participate in governance and service review meetings

Coordinate with Oracle Cloud Operations and ExaCC platform teams for change windows and incidents

Professional & Technical Skills:

Technical Experience:

6+ years of total experience as an Oracle DBA

Production experience with Oracle Exadata CloudCustomer (ExaCC) Hosted DBA model

Hands-on Oracle on GCP experience (Compute Engine, Bare Metal Solution, or Cloud SQL)

Hands-on AWS RDS for Oracle experience

Production experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate replication

Demonstrated database migration project experience across on-prem and cloud

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) required OCM preferred GCP Database Engineer or AWS Database Specialty preferred

Additional Information:

- A 15 years full time education is required.
