Snowflake Administration

Manage and administer Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, schemas, and roles

Configure and maintain virtual warehouses for optimal performance

Handle user access control and role-based security

Performance & Cost Optimization

Monitor and optimize query performance and warehouse usage

Implement cost optimization strategies (auto-suspend/resume, scaling policies)

Analyze query execution plans and troubleshoot slow queries

Security & Governance

Implement data security policies (RBAC, masking, row-level security)

Configure network policies, encryption, and access control

Ensure compliance with data governance standards

Data Management

Manage data loading/unloading (Snowpipe, COPY commands)

Monitor data ingestion pipelines and troubleshoot failures

Ensure data integrity and consistency

Backup, Recovery & High Availability

Implement data retention, fail-safe, and time travel features

Plan and manage disaster recovery strategies

Ensure business continuity

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Monitor system health using Snowflake dashboards and tools

Troubleshoot performance issues and failures

Maintain logs and audit activities

Integration & Support

Work with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, Airflow)

Integrate Snowflake with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and BI teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

3–6 years of experience in Snowflake Administration / Data Warehouse Administration

Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture and concepts

Proficiency in SQL (mandatory)

Snowflake Features

Virtual Warehouses

Time Travel & Fail-safe

Snowpipe & Data Sharing

RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)

Cloud & Tools

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools

Experience with monitoring & logging tools

• Primary skills: Snowflake admin

Snowflake Certification (SnowPro Core / Advanced)

Knowledge of data modeling (star/snowflake schemas)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub)

Familiarity with Python scripting
